Noise pollution or noise disturbance is the excessive noise that may harm the activity or balance of human or animal life. The source of most outdoor noise worldwide is mainly caused by machines and transportation systems, motor vehicles, aircraft, and trains. Noise pollution affects both health and behavior.
Pollution is now a common place term, that our ears are attuned to. We hear about the various forms of pollution and read about it through the mass media. Air pollution is one such form that refers to the contamination of the air, irrespective of indoors or outside. A physical, biological or chemical alteration to the air in the atmosphere can be termed as pollution. It occurs when any harmful gases, dust, smoke enters into the atmosphere and makes it difficult for plants, animals and humans to survive as the air becomes dirty.
Vinyl chloride causes Raynaud's phenomenon (spasms in the small arteries that cause the extremities to become pale and cold, as well as painful), necrosis of the small bones of the hand, liver damage, and a rare, highly malignant tumor of the liver. ( Ref. 99)
It's hard to imagine doing anything so dramatic and serious that it would damage our entire, enormous planet but, remarkable though it may seem, we all do things like this everyday, contributing to problems such as global warming and the damage to the ozone layer (two separate issues that are often confused).
In the threshold effect , pollution produces no effect until a certain threshold in pollution concentrations is achieved. In other words, &ldquo so long as a given threshold is not exceeded, the damage from pollution would be completely repaired as quickly as it is produced&rdquo . ( Ref. 76)
First , they are precursors to the formation of ozone (which is part of the photochemical smog) second , they include compounds which are carcinogenic and mutagenic in their own right. ( Ref. 87)
Small life forms may consume harmful chemicals which may then be passed up the food chain to larger animals this may lead to increased mortality rates and even animal extinction
5. Indoor air pollution: Household cleaning products, painting supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution. Have you ever noticed that once you paint walls of your house, it creates some sort of smell which makes it literally impossible for you to breathe.
